    Description

    Open to students who are in their JUNIOR or SENIOR year at time of application and who are interested in entering Bermuda's insurance industry.

    BERMUDA INTERN PROGRAMME
    May 21 - June 8, 2012 
    Structured 3-week programme in which 4 Bermudian students together with 2 students from Illinois State University’s Katie  School of Insurance and Financial Services learn every aspect of Bermuda's insurance market.

    CHICAGO INTERN PROGRAMME
    July 9 - 20, 2012
    Structured 2-week programme in which 4 Bermudian students will be hosted by industry partners and Katie School alumni in Chicago to learn all about  the Chicago insurance market and gain valuable overseas experience. 

    ATLANTA INTERN PROGRAMME - NEW in 2012
    July 9 - 20, 2012
    Structured 2-week programme in which 4 Bermudian students will be hosted by industry partners to learn all about  the Atlanta insurance market and gain valuable overseas experience. 

    LONDON INTERN PROGRAMME - Cancelled for 2012 - will be reinstated in 2013.
    Structured 2-week programme in which 4 Bermudian students will be hosted by industry partners in London to learn all about  the London insurance market and gain valuable overseas experience.

    Other Requirements

    REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

    1. ESSAY – In 400 words,  tell us why are you interested in participating in the programme, and which location is your first choice and why?

    2. INSURANCE KNOWLEDGE - List any insurance courses you have taken.  Students who have not taken any insurance courses, will be required to take the Insurance Essentials Program (American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters) which requires 4-6 hours of online study.  BFIS will refund the cost for chosen interns.

    3. Most recent grades certificate.

    4. Proof of Bermudian or PRC status.

    5. Head and shoulders photograph suitable for use in intern information for hosting companies.
