Description
A $5,000 award made to a Bermudian student interested in furthering their post secondary education in fine arts and/or interior design
Other Requirements
Criteria for Eligibility:
Applicants must
- Be over the age of 17 years
- Be Bermudian
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or post-graduate course in Fine Art and/or Design
- Have achieved an overall academic standing of “B” or above in their present programme of study
- Possess a strong character and show demonstrated ambition
- Must have demonstrated involvement in local fine art exhibitions/activities
Documents Required:
- Completed, signed application form
- Proof of Bermudian status
- Photographic identification
- Evidence of acceptance from an approved university or institution of higher learning with a copy of the syllabus of the course being taken
- Statement indicating summary of expenses and details of any other award sought or offered
- Applicant’s hand written submission stating career ambitions, involvement in local fine art exhibitions/activities and why he/she should receive the award
- Portfolio of applicant’s artwork (6-12 items). Artwork may be submitted digitally, on cd or by email (jpg or pdf) or on personal website.
- Letter of reference from someone qualified to assess the applicant’s ability and performance in the arts.
Interview:
Short-listed candidates will be interviewed by The Educational Scholarship Committee at a mutually convenient time.
