Description

At Trott & Duncan we strongly believe in the importance of supporting young Bermudians who aspire to a career in the legal profession. It takes hard work and commitment, but the practice of law is an exciting, challenging and rewarding career.

The Educational Scholarship Award was founded in 2007 in honour of Ms Shirley D Simmons, a consultant with the firm. A trailblazer for women in the legal profession, Ms. Simmons is one of the most senior and highly regarded members of the Bar Association in the jurisdiction.

The Scholarship Award is intended to support those who have a strong desire and show true dedication to pursuing a career in law.

Applicants must submit proof of acceptance into or enrollment at a law school or post-graduate vocational law course.

Applicants will be invited to interview with the Trott & Duncan Scholarship Award Committee during the month of August 2012. A candidate will be selected based on academic qualifications and/or achievements, academic and personal references as well as his/her performance at the interview.

The Scholarship Award offers the successful candidate a $10,000 bursary to contribute to his/her ongoing educational development.

The scholarship is currently closed pending finalisation of award details.
