Description
A full scholarship for a period of up to four years, to a Bermudian/PRC student qualified to proceed with, or currently enrolled in, undergraduate studies leading to a degree in insurance and/or related fields. The scholarship will cover tuition, room and board, textbooks and two round-trip flights per academic year.
Other Requirements
- Must be in graduating year of high school or have previously graduated from high school
- outstanding scholastic ability
- qualities of character, leadership, dedication to the community and fellowship
- demonstrate abilities in cultural, athletic or other non-academic pursuits
- willing to return to Bermuda on completion of studies
- willing to work for XL for a minimum of two years on completion of studies, if XL should choose to make a job offer
- must be Bermudian
Documents Required:
Please ensure the following documents are submitted. An application will only be considered if all the required documentation is submitted by April 30th:
- A cover letter of up to 750 words which should include why you are applying for the XL Scholarship, why you believe you would be a good candidate for the XL Scholarship, the career path you see for yourself and what attracts you the re/insurance industry
- A full face photograph
- A copy of your birth certificate
- A copy of a certificate or other documents from the Ministry of Labour, Home Affairs and Public Safety acceptable to the Committee demonstrating that the candidate is Bermudian
- One letter of reference indicating five years of schooling in Bermuda
- Two reference letters relating to the character of the candidate
- A resume
- Medical certificate showing that the candidate is in good health
- Academic certificates and/or transcripts
- Letter of acceptance or proof of study at an accredited tertiary institution (or interim status of application)
